Job Description:
Our agency client is looking for a full-time VP of Operations and Finance with experience from an events agency that specializes in both live and virtual events, specifically for large-scale conferences for global brands.
Responsibilities:
As a VP of Operations and Finance, your key responsibilities include:
- Serve on the leadership team to collaborate in planning and execution of overall strategy
Oversee the operations of the company including:
- Management of contracts and of legal firms
- Managing of Talent Resources, including recruiting, onboarding, and HR procedures and policies
- Managing of infrastructure including information technologies and offices
Oversee the financial operations and team, including:
- Manage all accounting and financial processes and reporting systems including accounts payables and receivables, monthly and EOY reconciliations, cash flow, revenue projections, tax strategy, and financial analysis
- Direct the preparation and management of the annual operating budget and all financial reporting
- Management and implementation of necessary accounting, financial, and risk management strategies, controls, processes, and systems
- Handling the procurement process, vendor agreements, and client contracts from sourcing, to negotiating, to execution
- Project accounting management
- Interface proactively with outside tax firms.
Skills/Qualifications:
The ideal VP of Operations and Finance will have:
- Experience building great teams
- Strong operational experience, along with solid financial background, preferably in a startup, entrepreneurial, or services organization
- A proven track record of results-driven negotiating, problem solving, and process development and deployment
- A strong tool kit that enables you to support a team and organization with a balance of clarity and flexibility
- An understanding on how to best navigate an ecosystem of full-time creatives, freelancers, independent contractors, and subcontractors
- Experience managing and implementing systems and processes that are balanced in efficiency and purpose to support teams doing their best creative work
