Project Engineer


Job Details

Take the lead on complex design and drafting tasks, demonstrating autonomy and initiative. Provide support to Project Management, Vendors, and Customers as necessary. Execute project assignments under some supervision from the manager. Maintain consistent communication with customers throughout projects, ensuring follow-up after successful commissioning. Drive innovation by developing new products/systems and enhancing existing ones. Manage specifications, procurement, costing, scheduling, customer service, and sales support.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret written and verbal specifications to produce accurate drawings and models.
  • Utilize CAD Software and engineering/manufacturing knowledge to develop efficient product/process designs.
  • Propose multiple solutions to fulfill design requirements.
  • Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures for new projects.
  • Ensure model accuracy, adherence to design standards, and comprehensive documentation.
  • Collaborate with Designers, Drafters, and Engineers to coordinate design efforts effectively.
  • Complete project tasks within defined scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Manage small projects and segments of larger ones.
  • Review drawings for completeness and accuracy, providing necessary markups.
  • Create and refine 3D models based on prototypes and 2D drawings.
  • Verify engineering drawings for compliance with specifications.
  • Prioritize tasks and offer timely technical support and solutions to the team.
  • Participate actively in project meetings and conference calls.
  • Prepare and occasionally present engineering documents for customer approval.
  • Collaborate with sales to conceptualize new projects and modifications to ongoing ones.
  • Travel to project sites for installations as required.
  • Coordinate with customers, assembly team, vendors, and contractors as per project requirements.

Education/Experience:

  • Two-year or four-year degree in Mechanical or Design Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Experience in a fabrication environment is preferred.
