About the role

The Director of Procurement IT & Telecom will be responsible for Cloudflare s global informationtechnology and telecom spending of approximately $200 million annually across the entire footprint. Leada team of Category Leaders responsible for strategic sourcing activities and supplier managementfunctions. Develop a sourcing strategy aligned with functional / business objectives, build organizationalstrength, create robust sourcing strategies, negotiate agreements, manage strategic supplierrelationships, and drive continuous improvement and year-over-year savings. Act as a critical businesspartner to the IT Leadership Team.

What you'll do

  • Act as the key global IT and telecom sourcing interface with all Cloudflare divisions, ensuring
    alignment of strategies and commitments.
    • Understand the company s IT Strategy and Plan objectives, timelines, and goals. Align the
      Strategic Sourcing plans to enable IT investments and operations.
    • Analyze cross-divisional spend and develop global strategic sourcing plans to reduce the total
      cost of ownership for all business units.
    • Demonstrate a measurable reduction in year-over-year total cost of ownership for the goods and
      services being sourced without compromising quality and service levels.
  • Provide thought leadership in developing and implementing sourcing strategies.
    o Create subcategory strategies using cross-functional teams and sourcing process diligence.
    • Manage contracting process and lead coordination with Legal, Compliance, and Privacy to ensure commercial relationships are appropriately documented.
    • Champion the use of e-sourcing, Spend Visibility, and P2P tools company-wide
    • Manage the supplier qualification, RFP, supplier selection, contract development, implementation, compliance, and ongoing supply base management process related to IT & Telecom.
  • Drive functional excellence across the IT & Telecom portfolio, including skills development andidentifying training needs.
    • Manage relationships with the IT senior management and the suppliers.
    • Create and maintain communication mechanisms to ensure coordination with IT and reporting ofsourcing impact.
  • Leads the Global Sourcing IT & Telecom Team
    • Develop staff to create expertise in both the areas of spend being managed and in strategicsourcing processes.
    • Mentor and develop staff through counseling and training program development that addressesindividual improvement areas.

Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience

  • A bachelor s degree is required, as well as a graduate degree in engineering, supply chain, or hard
    technical field (STEM). Soft degrees (B.A., B.F.A., etc.) not accepted.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in procurement or supply chain leadership roles.
  • Concrete experience in IT hardware, software, SaaS, Cloud, and professional service categories.
  • Solid experience in global matrix organizations with a worldwide operation footprint.
  • Experience in a continuous improvement environment with a track record of achieving significant P&Lsavings year over year.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills, proven experience driving the strategic sourcing processand category strategies (A.R.Q.S.C.I.).
  • Proven track record in building and leading multicultural, global, high-performance teams.
  • Customer-centric mindset and problem-solver.
  • Adaptability to work across all functions and levels of an organization (from C-Level to buyer planner).
  • Industry: Heavy regulated; Financial Services, Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, Telecommunications,Aerospace & Defense, Automotive, Food & beverage, Banking.

Compensation

Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location.

  • For Colorado-based hires and Washington hires: Estimated annual salary of $221,000 - $271,000
  • For New York City-based and California (excluding Bay Area): Estimated annual salary of $225,000 - $275,000
  • For Bay Area-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $237,000 - $289,000
