Director of Procurement:

Location: Richardson, TX


At L&S Mechanical, our Director - Procurement will lead our sourcing, procurement analytics and purchasing functions with a strong emphasis on data-driven decision-making and strategic insights. In this role, you will leverage advanced data analytics tools and techniques to optimize our procurement processes, identify cost-saving opportunities, enhance supplier performance, and ensure alignment with our organizational goals and objectives Your role will be instrumental in driving efficiency, transparency, and innovation within our procurement operations, ultimately contributing to the overall success and growth of L&S Mechanical.


Key Responsibilities:


Data Analysis and Insights:

  • Utilize data analytics tools and techniques to analyze procurement data, identify trends, and extract actionable insights.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPls) and metrics to measure procurement performance and track progress against strategic objectives.

Strategic Procurement Planninq:

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategic procurement plans that align with business objectives and drive value creation.
  • Use data analysis to identify strategic sourcing opportunities, assess market trends, and mitigate supply chain risks.


Vendor Performance Management:

  • Establish performance metrics and benchmarks to evaluate vendor performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct supplier performance reviews and leverage data insights to negotiate favorable terms, optimize vendor relationships, and drive continuous improvement.


Cost Optimization and Budget Management:

  • Analyze procurement spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities, optimize purchasing decisions, and maximize the return on investment.
  • Develop and manage the procurement budget, track spending against budget targets, and implement cost-control measures where necessary.
  • Document all vendor negotiated discount and rebate structures.


Process Optimization:

  • Identify inefficiencies in the procurement process and recommend process improvements and automation solutions to streamline operations, reduce cycle times, and enhance productivity.
  • Leverage data analytics to optimize inventory management, demand forecasting, and order fulfillment processes.


Risk Management and Compliance:

  • Utilize data analysis to identify and mitigate procurement risks, such as supply chain disruptions, price volatility, and compliance issues.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to safeguard the organization's interests and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (if applicable).


Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making, continuous learning, and professional development.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members in leveraging data analytics tools and techniques to improve performance and achieve departmental goals.


Qualifications:

  • 7 - 10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a proven track record of using data analytics to drive strategic decision-making and achieve measurable results.
  • Track record of developing and managing supplier/trade partner relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools, techniques, as well as procurement and contract software (e.g., Excel, Tableau, MicroStrategy, PowerBl, SAP, NetSuite, Dynamics or other ERP and Reporting Applications).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations for senior management.
  • Strategic mindset and ability to think critically and creatively to solve complex business problems and identify innovative solutions.
  • Leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Bachelor's degree in business analytics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM). Preferred but not required.
