General Definition of Work
Performs work responsible for the maintenance of the City of Cape Girardeau Outdoor Sports Complexes and Community Centers.
Essential Functions
•Maintains the grounds of the Sports Complexes including mowing, trimming, dragging and lining athletics fields, general cleaning trash removal and other landscaping related responsibilities.
•Performs required responsibilities related to turf care and chemical application.
•Performs regular and preventative maintenance of city community centers.
•Maintain athletic fields including watering, dragging, leveling and lining.
•Sets up for and cleans up after events and tournaments.
•Works evenings, weekends and holidays as needed. Participates in a weekend rotation to provide coverage of athletics tournaments, events and facility rentals.
•Assists senior level staff with improvement and other related projects as assigned.
•Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
•Must possess a valid driver's license.
•Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position.
Salary per hour $15.57, plus a generous benefit package.
- Bi-weekly pay periods.
- Twelve paid holidays per year.
- 96 hours of vacation - accrued throughout the year.
- 96 hours of sick leave - accrued throughout the year.
- 2 days of personal leave per fiscal year. Must be employed on July 1 of the fiscal year to receive.

- Total compensation value (Hourly starting rate plus benefits value) for this position is $23.97 hourly/$49,858 yearly.
