The role of the System Tech - Lighting is to proficiently set up, operate, and maintain entertainment lighting equipment. We are seeking an experienced technician with exceptional interpersonal skills who can consistently uphold Clearwing's standards and deliver professional customer service, whether working in-house or at job sites.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Calculate power consumption for systems, set up generators, and demonstrate proficiency in 3-phase power.
- Skillfully set up and utilize a fall arrest system for safety.
- Perform on-site rigging tasks and identify compromised rigging components.
- Identify components within networked systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and basic network issues.
- Expertly solder and re-terminate Cat5 cables.
- Create and implement basic lighting systems.
- Coordinate truck packs both in the shop and on-site.
- Lead and manage a large crew while adhering to union/house rules.
- Possess basic computer knowledge, including but not limited to Microsoft Office and Vectorworks Viewer.
- Skillfully patch and run a basic show using Clearwing's console inventory.
- Assemble and construct data racks for equipment.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and technology.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to prepare, pull, pack, test, and maintain gear.
- Provide assistance to other company departments as workload demands.
- Stay current with industry standards and technology trends.

Qualifications
Required Skills and Qualifications (There are 3 levels of this position, level will be determined based on experience)
- Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in entertainment lighting production.
- Knowledge of the lighting equipment within Clearwing's inventory is a plus.
- Having OSHA 10 Certification is preferred.
- Certified in the operation of forklifts, boom lifts and scissor lifts.
- Possession of a valid passport is preferred.
- A high school diploma or its equivalent is required.
- Candidates with experience in driving a 24' box truck are preferred.
Physical Working Conditions:
- Physical Demands: The role requires regular bending, twisting, stretching, pushing, pulling, and lifting objects weighing 50-75 lbs.
- Prolonged Sitting or Standing: Expect to sit or stand for extended periods as necessary.
- Stair and Ladder Usage: The job involves ascending and descending stairs or ladders and requires a comfort level with heights.
- Variable Environmental Conditions: Be prepared to work in a range of temperatures and outdoor weather conditions.
- On-Call Availability: This position may require on-call availability, including some nights, weekends, and holidays.
