Description

The Procurement Supervisor is responsible for a team charged with purchasing activities for a multi-site operation. The qualified individual will encompass an understanding of food manufacturing operations in a multi-temperature environment and be the subject matter expert for purchasing practices for these locations. This role will be expected to maintain operations consistent with Monogram's budgeting process and utilize metrics to deploy a continuous improvement culture. This position reports directly to the Sr. Purchasing Manager and is responsible for leading a team of up to 3 direct reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Promote and enforce a process-honoring and safety focused culture.

Oversee Buyers and support staff to ensure maximum productivity.

Manage and execute supplier agreements ensuring contract compliance.

Identify supply risks, develop business continuity plans (BCP's), and work with functional partners to create solutions.

Resolve day-to-day issues including, but not limited to logistics, quality, supplier, invoice, etc. while proactively escalating issues when necessary.

Review purchase orders completed by Buyers and support staff as necessary.

Utilize prevailing MRP tools to analyze material requirements, issue purchase orders, and coordinate timely delivery of materials to support production.

Build strong relationships with key vendors.

Maintain a clean AP workflow process ensuring seamless processing of invoice and RMA transactions.

Evaluate, establish, and implement minimum and maximum inventory to establish and maintain adequate and reasonable inventory levels.

Maintain levels of inventory to avoid stock outs while also working directly with purchasing team and suppliers to avoid inventory lapses due to supplier and manufacturer stock outs.

Ensure accurate master data records through proper item setup and regular reconciliation of attributes over the life cycle of all purchased materials.

Proactively manage and mitigate impact of SLOB through proper communication and procurement practices.

Implement cost savings strategies when available, sensible, and within established guidelines.

Implement and improve department procedures for all functions in the purchasing department. Seek to add new ways to streamline department functions to reach company goals while sharing best practices with other procurement teams across the business.

Establish priorities, schedule, and track work projects, provide guidance, and ensure the availability of resources.

Maintain communications and foster a cooperative and harmonious working climate conducive to maximizing employee morale and productivity.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

A.S degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

4+ years of professional purchasing experience required (Food Purchasing experience preferred).

3+ years of management experience required.

Strong interpersonal abilities, communication skills, analytical capabilities, and customer service experience desired.

Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with a keen sense of urgency required.

Comfortable with developing and presenting out topics to various groups including leadership.

Motivated, self-starter, able to work independently and make fact-based decisions/recommendations.

Able to see the bigger picture and work collaboratively with other business partners to accomplish the common goal.

Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel preferred, Power BI desirable) and ERP systems (MS D365 preferred).

Additional experience/training in process improvement (Six Sigma or other technique), critical problem solving, and project management desired.

Experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.

Must be at least 18 years of age or older
