Job Description:
The Ministry Associate will support the work of Multicultural Affairs by being present and involved with the students and communities that are served by the department. The position will serve as a chaplain offering pastoral resources as needed to individual students. Under joint supervision, the Ministry Associate reports to the designated staff member of Multicultural Affairs and to the University Chaplain for training. It is a part-time position with a maximum of 20 hours per week.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree
Must be enrolled as a full-time student at Truett Seminary.
Some background or experience in ministry with young people or young adults.
Excellent people skills essential; ability to interact with people regardless of their race, nationality, or educational background
Be available to offer pastoral care and spiritual guidance to students involved in Multicultural Affairs programming. (10 hours)
Work closely with University Chaplain and Multicultural Affairs in developing relationships with multicultural coalitions and student organizations; focus on the spiritual growth and holistic development of these communities, encouraging them to embrace their personal heritage as well as those of others. (4 hours)
Attend weekly Department of Multicultural Affairs staff meetings, supervision, and other gatherings. (2 hours)
Attend weekly staff meetings with Chaplain for training/supervision. (2 hours)
As appropriate, assist with and participate in special events and programs facilitated by Multicultural Affairs. (1 hour)
Perform other duties as assigned. (1 hour)
