Title of Position: Project Manager

Compensation: $100,000-$125,000 base salary annually plus discretionary annual bonuses based on performance.

FSLA: Exempt

Location: Greater Detroit Metro

The Detroit International Bridge Company (Ambassador Bridge) is looking to add a construction project manager to add to their team! Our Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the construction process for buildings, booths, canopies and other pieces of infrastructure like bridges and roadways. Duties include upholding the use of quality materials and procedures, adhering to budgets to complete tasks or purchase materials and reviewing contracts to make sure that current practices align with the owner s expectations.


The Project Manager reports to the VP of Project Management and is responsible for a multiple commercial and industrial projects within a given region. These responsibilities include the new builds, renovations, and green field projects.

What does the Construction Project Manager do?


  • Provide overall administrative and technical direction for multiple high profile projects.
  • Responsibilities to include customer interface, client development, project scoping, estimating, scheduling, procurement, construction oversight, safety oversight, cost and progress monitoring, management and reporting
  • Oversee total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance within budget and schedule
  • Includes interfacing with ownership, executive management, A/E representatives, and subcontractors.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy
  • Plan, coordinate and/or supervise activities of all company personnel on assigned project(s)
  • Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent.
  • Authorize/approve all purchase requisitions and change requests after meeting with ownership and executive management.
  • Maintain official project log and documentation files
  • Assist with implementation/interpretation of safety programs
  • Provide direction to planning, scheduling, and engineering functions as required
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect company s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with Client
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by ownership and executive management



Preferred Qualifications:


  • 4 year construction management /engineering degree or equivalent professional training and experience
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of commercial or industrial construction activities, design, finance, and management required
  • Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, and standards.
  • Must be a business-oriented professional


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of WINDOWS (basic applications), Microsoft Office Suite, Computer Automated Design and scheduling software systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes, familiarity with permitting, and subcontractor relationships.
  • Strong track record of accomplishments within commercial and industrial construction.


Working Conditions:

  • Able to work extended hours as needed 50+ hours.


Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with employees and other individuals as well as function safely within an office environment and, on occasion, may visit industrial plant locations
