Production Manager

Multinational EMS provider is looking for a Production Manager to drive continuous improvements by using the Lean tools such as VSM, Standard Work, TPM, Visual Factory and 5S to meet OpX metrics (specifically efficiency and scrap) and satisfy customer demand while returning maximum profits to our investors. The Production Manager has eleven supervisors directly reporting to them and over 200 direct employees. With Yearly Revenue of $150M and 23 Customers we are a growing publicly traded company with lots of opportunity for growth.

Position Overview

Our Production Manager responsibilities include organizing and optimizing the production team to meet and exceed the expectations of our customers while maintaining a safe work environment. Creating and driving daily continuous improvement activities. Teaching, coaching, and holding site personnel accountable for meeting site continuous improvement targets and goals. Daily shop floor support to improve processes and accountability. Achieving progressive, sustainable results: Supporting all areas to achieve their productivity and profitability goals utilizing Lean as the enabler. Support aggressive business improvement metrics and lead major/minor kaizen activity to achieve them.

Basic Background requirements are:

  • Proficient to Advanced Skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Overall safety knowledge
  • Overall knowledge of scheduling in a HMLV environment preferred
  • Lean Manufacturing Experience including Standard Work, VSM, SMED, 5S and TPM including leading Kaizen workshops.
  • Prefer Bachelor in Engineering/Business/Operations or equivalent
  • Prefer 5 years Supervisor or Operations Leadership Experience
  • Successfully Interview with relevant hiring team
  • Successfully pass pre-employment drug test
Key Performance Objectives:

Week 1:
  • Complete required HR, Safety, Quality, RoHS, and Benefits Orientation
  • Complete IPC 6.10 Training and pass post training assessment
  • Complete hand solder training and pass post training assessment
Week 2 -6 months
  • Learn and comply with: Quality Management System, ESD Requirements, Kronos Timekeeping, Standard Operation Procedures, where necessary - SAP defect recording, Valor Traceability
  • Begin On-The-Job-Training with assigned trainer
  • Become Familiar with Customers, Products, Supervisors, Planners and Management
  • Lead Weekly Staff Meetings with help from Operations Manager
  • Lead Weekly Staffing Meeting with Supervisors to determine overtime necessary
  • Communicate with all shifts and supervisors to ensure that relevant information is shared for maximum understanding of production situations (i.e. quality issues, missing parts, machine issues, downtime, etc.) and ensure that Operations Manager is aware of all high risk situations
  • Provide Feedback to Direct Reports in a Timely Manner
6 months +
  • Ensure production schedule is met
  • Monitor Scrap and efficiency on the production lines
  • Create and support an operational environment that is focused on continuous improvement
  • Lead Kaizen Activities in Production Areas to Improve Efficiency
  • Begin Mentoring Supervisors to Implement Standard Work and Use of Lean Tools in their areas
  • Work with Operations Manager and Continuous Improvement Manager to Develop Goals for
  • Cost Centers to Implement Lean Tools to Achieve OpX Metrics
Other:
  • Keep personal data up to date and accurate in ESS
  • Follow all handbook practices
  • Work effectively as a team with other members of group
  • Complete Green Belt Training if not already certified
  • Energized and looking to learn and grow with our company
