GENERAL PURPOSE

Under the general supervision of the Parks/Recreation Maintenance Supervisor, caretaker will reside at the park and provide full-time supervision and maintenance of the Reservoir and Campground.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Patrols facilities; checks buildings for security; enforce facility rules; responds to requests from citizens for assistance. May respond to emergencies and contact emergency personnel or public safety personnel as needed.

Each day, the facilities should be thoroughly cleared of litter. As clean-up takes place each day, caretaker should observe any potential problem areas throughout the park. (Uneven Ground, holes, dangerous or neglected areas, any unsafe area.) Any problems that can not be taken care of by the caretaker, should be reported to the maintenance supervisor immediately.

Garbage liners in all trash cans should be changed daily. Restrooms should be cleaned and stocked each day they are open for public use. (During the busy summer season, they should be cleaned at least twice daily.)

Rake and drag beach area daily, paying particular attention to filling holes. Clean sidewalks and stairs daily. Maintain cleanliness of fish cleaning station throughout the day. Clean picnic areas daily and more if necessary. Clean pavilion and prepare for use. Spray for insects and bees.

Keep campground clean. Sweep off concrete areas. Clean fire pits as needed. Clean barbeque grills as needed.

Make general repairs to buildings and facilities as needed.

Collect campground payments. Verify that campers have paid.

Post reservation signs for campground and pavilion.

Open gate in the morning. Empty park of visitors and close gate each night at dusk.

Other related duties as assigned.

Must be able to meet attendance and punctuality requirements for this position. Must abide by all city policies and procedures. Must work well with others and be a team player.

Applicants may be required to submit to a criminal background check and fingerprint report.

Applicant must have a trailer or camper to live in while on duty.

Shift will consists of three (3) days on (3) days off. Approximately fifteen (15) days per month, starting the last week of May through the first week of September. (Schedule may vary)
