Job Summary:

The Facility Maintenance Handyman is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure that the facilities are safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing. This role includes routine maintenance of equipment, minor repairs, and troubleshooting issues related to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

* General Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

* Repairs: Conduct minor repairs such as fixing leaks, replacing light fixtures, repairing doors, windows, and other building components.

* Carpentry: Handle basic carpentry tasks such as building and repairing furniture, cabinets, and shelving units.

* Electrical: Perform basic electrical tasks, including replacing switches, outlets, and light fixtures.

* Plumbing: Address minor plumbing issues such as unclogging drains, fixing leaks, and replacing fixtures.

* HVAC: Assist in the maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

* Painting and Finishing: Carry out painting, plastering, and finishing tasks to maintain the aesthetic quality of the facilities.

* Safety and Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and company policies.

* Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and perform necessary repairs to ensure the safety and functionality of the facilities.

* Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and supplies used.

* Inventory Management: Manage and maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies necessary for maintenance tasks.

* Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance staff and departments to coordinate activities and ensure efficient operations.

Position Requirements

Qualifications:

* Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facility maintenance, repair, or a related field.

* Skills: Proficiency in multiple trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building maintenance.

* Technical Knowledge: Understanding of building systems and maintenance procedures.

* Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

* Physical Ability: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in various environmental conditions.

* Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills.

* License/Certification: Relevant certifications or licenses in maintenance trades (e.g., electrical, plumbing) are a plus.

Working Conditions:

* Environment: Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, sometimes in extreme weather conditions.

* Physical Demands: Requires the ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform tasks that require physical exertion.

* Schedule: May require occasional evening, weekend, or on-call shifts to address emergency maintenance needs.
