Student Health Services is an ambulatory care facility that provides medical services for the students of The Ohio State University. Under direct supervision by the Revenue Cycle Manager, the Revenue Integrity Specialist 1 provides revenue cycle management support for the ambulatory care facility with more than 25 providers and a variety of ancillary services. As a Certified Professional Coder, the Revenue Integrity Specialist 1 performs review and analysis of clinical documentation and coding to ensure integrity and compliance in billing practices. Provides support in developing policies and procedures for review of clinical documentation, coding and charge capture; coordinates and presents training to operational, clinical, or business office staff when appropriate.

Additional Information:

Required:

Bachelor's Degree in HIMS or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Certified Professional Coder with American Association of Professional Coders or some other accredited coding certification (CPC, CCS or RHIA) or must obtain within 12 months of hire; thorough knowledge of CPT, ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding concepts required; familiarity with medical terminology; strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet.

Desired:

Experience working in a healthcare setting; experience with PyraMed or other medical billing systems and Student Information System (SIS): experience in medical and pharmaceutical reimbursement within a multi-carrier environment; excellent communication skills; working knowledge of University policies and procedures.

Targeted hiring range is $16.89 - $29.81/hr.
