The Patient Transporter 1 transports patients, patients belongings, medical records, hospital equipment safely, and in a nice, courteous, and timely way via wheelchairs, stretchers, beds, and carts. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE - Safely transports patients and their belongings, medical records, charts, and equipment to various areas. Maintains friendly, efficient, positive customer service attitude toward customers, clients and co-workers. Safely moves patients with traction, I - Vs, drainage apparatus, oxygen and other encumbrances. Provides emergency help to patients who become ill during transport process until proper staff can be notified and help arrives. Verifies the proper patient identity by visually checking patient identification or verifying with nursing staff. When transporting a cardiac-monitored patient, RN will accompany patient unless patient meets criteria for nurse guided removal of Cardiac monitoring for Inpatient Transport.
