WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic systems, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and perform emergency repairs to various types of industrial machines in production area.
- Operate power equipment in accordance to OSHA and company safety standards.
- Notify maintenance and supervisor of needed machine repairs or areas of maintenance concern.
- Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Monitor, identify and respond promptly to signs of malfunction in machinery such as changes in performance, temperature fluctuations, sounds, smells or atypical energy usage; perform troubleshooting for production machinery.
- Perform emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electric and hydraulic; identify and replace worn or damaged parts in a timely manner.
- Inspect machines regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual inspections, listening for irregular noises and conducting scheduled testing as appropriate.
- Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment.
Requirements
WHAT YOU'LL REQUIRE: - High School Diploma or GED
- 3 or more years mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical equipment, troubleshooting & repair, and safe work practices
- Experience working in production environment.
- Be able to read building and electrical schematics.
- Possess excellent skills and techniques in repairing and maintaining industrial/production machines.
- Should have basic math skills.
- Should have excellent organizational and decision-making skills.
- Must be able to work independently and efficiently in an often fast-paced environment.
