Machinist 2nd Class

We are looking for a 2nd Class Machinist to join our Target Rock team!

As our Conventional Machinist 2nd Class you will be responsible for the operation of conventional machine tools within a given manufacturing department.You will also be able to perform set-up activity on non-complex configurations. You will perform these activities in compliance with Company procedures and quality requirements. You will also be able to perform quality inspections to own work and make adjustments as required working with supervision.

Location: East Farmingdale, NY

Salary/hourly rate: $33.16/hr to $35.05/hr

YourChallenge

  • Ability to operate machines within a given manufacturing department.
  • Set-up machines for simple operations and complex operations with assistance of Manufacturing Leadman or Manufacturing Supervision.
  • Responsible to maintain quality and productivitystandards.
  • Blueprint reading
  • Ability to use inspection equipment and inspect own work.
  • Calculate and adjust feeds and speeds of material cutting as required.
  • Ability to sharpen cutting and grind form tools as required.

What You Bring

  • High School Graduate or equivalent, shop mathematics and Trigonometry Skills.
  • Five (5) years of manufacturing or related experience.
  • General good housekeeping practices within work area.
  • Maintain correct time reporting and accurate entries on applicable manufacturing documentation.
  • Basic Shop Math and use of trigonometry tables.
