Job Description
CHEP Services is the worlds largest pallet services company. We are hiring a Shipping & Receiving Coordinator for our location in Hammond, LA.
As a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator, the position will manage and coordinate the docks used for incoming and outgoing shipments for the site. This person will coordinate with Shift Leads regarding moving pallets, other incoming products, and materials by forklift operators and other material handlers.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SHIPPING AND RECEIVING COORDINATOR:
- Arranging administrative items for incoming and outgoing shipment contents and comparing with past history to ensure accuracy.
- Preparing documents, such as work orders, bills of lading and shipping orders to route materials. Reporting administrative discrepancies.
- Constant communication with carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for the shipping and delivery of materials.
- Corresponding with customer representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, scheduling issues, and pickup dates and times.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma/equivalent
- 2+ years experience in a warehouse setting
- Previous experience of Shipping and Receiving
- Previous experience with dispatching
- Customer service
- Must be at least 18 and have a high school diploma or equivalent
SCHEDULES
- 1st Shift - Monday to Thursday, 5:00 AM to 3:30 pm Friday, 7:00 am to 12:00 PM
- 2nd Shift - Monday to Thursday, 4:00 pm to 2:30 AM Friday, 12:00 pm to 5:00 PM
