Our major Oil & Gas client is seeking a Field Construction Lead to work in Sabine Pass, TX on an initial 12-month contract.
MAIN FUNCTIONS
- The lead position will include review of Contractor deliverables as well as oversight of project team personnel. The role is characterized by:
- Champion Worker Safety Programs
- Oversee site contractor construction activities during the Execution Phase.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to maintain and coordinate safety and QA practices and assist in preparation of schedules for subcontractors.
- Assist the Maintenance projects and Turnaround Supervisor with planning, monitoring, and coordinating the execution of all field activities by a contractor.
- Forward-looking professional, able to advise and assist contractors in execution.
- Provide the interface between the work face and the Maintenance projects and the Turnaround Supervisor.
- Provide construction core competency to the Project Team and advise the contractor of upcoming challenges.
- Ensure good communications and relations with the contractors.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Responsibilities of the Position shall include the following:
- Champion on-site safety awareness and safe performance with contractors and among Project Team members
- Supervise contractor personnel and ensure all Safety Health and Environmental procedures and policies are followed.
- Assist contractor in construction planning.
- Serve as a day-to-day interface with contractor and craft labour during the Construction Phase, providing a focus on safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
- Provide safety monitoring/leadership.
- Interface with QA/QC personnel to address quality issues/progress.
- Provide oversight of the contractor's materials management/verification systems
- Ensure compliance with specifications, procedures, and plans.
- Monitor workforce productivity and progress relative to schedule.
- Monitor environmental compliance, as required.
- Interface with a contractor for field-level changes, e.g., scope, costs, etc.
- Verify post-site arrival of procured equipment and engineering equipment.
- Provide on-site support for the Work Management System (Permitting, JSA Reviews, LOTO, etc.)
- Provide support to commissioning/systems completion as required.
- Coordinate Quality Audits and other site surveillance activities
- Perform other duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE - High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 10 (15+ preferred) years site experience in all aspects of construction; Civil, Structural, Mechanical/Piping, Scaffolding, Electrical and Instrumentation and Controls, Insulation/Painting, etc.
- Experience desired in the following areas: Marine environment, Hot and Cold Taps, and Pile installation.
- General computer skills and experience working with MS Outlook; PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Valid driver's License.
- Familiar with OSHA 1910 - Occupational Safety and Health Standard and OSHA 1926 Standards - Safety and Health Regulations for Construction.
- MUST have a Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card or be able to obtain one within 30 days of hiring.
- Availability to work beyond 40 hrs. weekly.
