POSITION SUMMARY
Assist with the overall maintenance of the Everence buildings and grounds.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  1. Assist with and provide backup for daily errands, purchasing maintenance supplies, and or various duties related to business areas.
  2. Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of buildings and grounds.
  3. Responsible for maintaining the exterior of the location at College Avenue.
  4. Responsible for the general safety rules of buildings and grounds, elevator operation and maintenance, physical security of doors/windows, assisting with fire drills and emergency evacuation, fire extinguishers, and fire suppression systems.
  5. Respond to janitorial needs, maintenance repairs, or problems. Assess the problem and either fix it or contact a vendor to fix it.
  6. Responsible for the setup and resets of all conference rooms for large meetings, opening walls, creating cubicle spaces or moving furniture, prepping office spaces for staff, hanging pictures, and executing office moves per the direction of the Office Services Manager.
  7. Assist in maintaining the receiving area, garage, and warehouse.
  8. Responsible for clearing ice and snow from sidewalks. Works with an outside vendor on parking lot snow removal as needed.
  9. Carries out other jobs assigned by the Facilities Director or Maintenance Supervisor.
  10. Maintain the operating condition of the building and complete simple repairs (may require painting, carpentry, mechanical repairs, regular maintenance, etc.).
  11. Be willing and able to respond to an after-hours emergency or to come in early for snow removal.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
High School diploma

Skills and Abilities:

  1. Ability to handle a variety of tasks; well-organized
  2. General carpentry and repair skills
  3. Self-starter with good judgment and decision-making
  4. Willingness to work with others: exhibits a service attitude
  5. Must be able to lift to 100 lbs
  6. Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces
  7. Electrical or mechanical skills desired
  8. Ability to use hand tools and power tools
  9. Ability to follow instructions and be teachable
