Description

Calibration Technicians at this level can calibrate higher-level equipment and calibrate equipment across the following disciplines, (e.g., Electrical, Dimensional, Flow, or Pressure). A Calibration Technician 2 will be capable of completing work independently within the lab with limited or no guidance.

Monitors and performs Calibration tasks in accordance with internal procedures and FAA requirements

Conducts incoming inspection prior to calibration on measuring equipments and tools

Verifies and calibrates various equipments and tools in accordance internal procedures and FAA requirements

Applies and adheres to relevant calibration regulations to ensure the equipment is safe, accurate and operational

Implements best practices and develops high bench marking activities

Ensures all required equipment and standards on site are calibrated and appropriately labeled

Maintains records of calibration, and assures that all linear instruments in use are within the acceptable calibration period

Issues notices when measurement media failed to be recalled to ensure non-usage by inspection and/or manufacturing personnel

Organizes equipment calibration with minimum disruption to the users

Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Successful completion of assigned training materials through on-the-job training, online content, and classroom led instruction

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

Excellent attention to detail

Self-motivated learner with the ability to learn new skills related to calibration and calibration processes

Ability to communicate well with supervisor, solve problems effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team

3+ years driving experience with a valid driver's license

Qualified to meet the requirements of 14CFR 145.155

Education

Associates degree from college or technical school, or 3+ years related experience and/or training, or combination of education and experience

Three+ (3+) years of commercial calibration experience

Previous experience or training in electronics or machining

Basic mathematical skills including algebra, geometry, and statistics

Basic organizational and time management skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office computer software including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Experience in PMEL, PME, TMDE, Metrology, Calibration, ASQ CCT, METCAL, GPETE, Electronics, GCAMS, or Avionics, LabVIEW / Automation Calibration Software, multimeters, Fluke 5522A

Experience working within ISO 17025 preferred. Understanding of uncertainty contributions to the measurement process

Occasionally will be required to lift up to 75 lbs.

Employee is often required to site or use their hands and fingers to handle tools and equipment

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
