Customer Service Agent (Personal Lines)

Job Description:

To provide professional customer service for the clients of the Personal Lines Team by processing all lines of personal insurance in accordance with the objectives and procedures outlined by the Team/Branch Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide prompt, accurate, courteous service to our clients.

  • Process cancellations and endorsement requests on computer system, with insurance carriers, and in client?s files per the request of client.? Also new business and renewals when applicable.

  • Create, type and send necessary correspondence to insurance companies and clients in order to update, obtain or verify necessary information to service all accounts.

  • Review policies and endorsements on renewals for accuracy and relevance. Input data on the computer system and maintain electronic files for each account.?

  • Answer client?s questions about their insurance coverages and needs.

  • Answer insurance company underwriter?s questions about client accounts.

  • Process claims when applicable.

  • Assist the Accounting Department in the reconciliation of client accounts.

  • Keep informed about new coverages and products. All tasks should be handled in a manner that is in compliance with the Personal Lines Procedures.

  • Continue to look for opportunities to make new sales and cross-sell when in contact with clients.? Interface with the Personal Lines Team/Producer to develop personal lines sales

  • Enroll in certified insurance seminars to keep up to date on changes within the insurance industry.

  • Perform other specific duties and projects as assigned by Team/Branch Manager

  • Pursue a program of personal and professional development.

Education Requirements:

  • A high school diploma, two years of college or two years of experience in the insurance industry.

  • Hold required and appropriate insurance agent?s license.

Desired Background/Skills:

  • Strong respect for confidentiality and attention to detail.

  • Ability to understand and analyze personal lines coverages, forms and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to use office equipment such as computer terminals, calculators, copiers, fax machines.

  • Word processing and typing skills.

  • Good written and oral communication skills.
