Position Title: Purchasing Manager

Location: Commerce, CA

Reports To: VP of Operations

Job Summary: Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and Purchasing Manager to join their manufacturing team. The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing effective sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services necessary for our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to meet the company s supply chain objectives and production needs.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and service.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance, including quality, delivery, and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and logistics, to ensure alignment of sourcing activities with company goals.
  • Analyze market trends and conditions to anticipate supply challenges and opportunities.
  • Maintain and update supplier database, including performance metrics and contract details.
  • Develop and manage the sourcing budget, ensuring cost savings and value maximization.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards in all sourcing activities.
  • Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain to ensure continuity of supply.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Sourcing Manager or in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in sourcing and procurement software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP).
  • Experience with international sourcing and global supply chains.
