What You Will Do

  • Industrial Electrician Duties:
  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical components of industrial equipment.
  • Working as a team member or alone to complete projects.
  • Observing safety procedures and meeting electrical codes.
  • Making decisions based on technical documents.
  • Performing quality testing and inspections.
  • General Job Duties:
  • Independently, handles facility and production machinery; can correct mechanical and/or electrical problems and malfunctions.
  • Works with minimal supervision in a team with Maintenance and Manufacturing people.
  • Can select components and layout jobs from concept to installation.
  • Receives general direction from Supervisor or Team Leader and works from drawings, machine manuals, specifications, instructions, or sketches.
  • Exercises independent judgement in diagnosing and correcting problems and refers only extremely difficult or unusual machine or system problems to Supervisor.
  • Identifies unsafe conditions and/or unsafe acts and takes steps to correct them.
  • Follows safety practices; uses LOTO procedures, and PPE as needed.
  • Interacts with vendors and outside contractors as needed.
  • Specific Job Duties:
  • Diagnoses problems (electrical, plumbing, machine repair, or building repair)
  • Determines effective and efficient means of correcting problems, and
  • Makes timely repairs, minimizing equipment downtime.
  • In making machine repairs, follows standard procedures, tolerances, alignments and recommendations of machine manual(s).
  • Complies with current applicable codes (NEC, NFPA, plumbing, building codes).
  • Uses measuring tools and instruments.
  • Electric meter, pressure, flow, temperature gauges, etc.
  • Other Duties:
  • With Maintenance Planner, implements, maintains, and improves preventive maintenance program following prescribed procedures and time intervals. Replaces or repairs machine parts or components when defective. Maintains necessary preventive maintenance program records.
  • Recommends stock of spare parts used in maintenance program.
  • Detects and reports faulty machine or utility systems operations, defective equipment, substandard components, or similar shortcomings to Supervisor.
  • Makes out time, production, and maintenance reports as necessary.
  • Observes all safety regulations in all duties and follows safety practices and procedures in all duties.
  • Uses hand and power tools to repair and install equipment and components. Operates lifts, pallet jacks and fork trucks.
  • When necessary, uses the Arc Welder, cutting and welding torches, and soldering equipment.
  • Performs other duties, as required.


Requirements



WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Journeyman experience or the completion of an apprenticeship program.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, hand tools, and industrial equipment.
  • Awareness of national, state, and local electrical codes and regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Motivated self-starter who can manage projects and make decisions.
  • Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents.
  • Willing to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lift heavy objects up to 50lbs., climbing ladders, crawling, etc.
