The Production Manager will be responsible for managing and optimizing all production activities at our chemical manufacturing facility. This role will ensure the efficient, cost-effective, and safe production of aviation materials, maintaining the highest quality standards.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Management:

    • Oversee daily production operations, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
    • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and optimize resource utilization.
    • Monitor production KPIs and implement corrective actions to address deviations.
  2. Team Leadership:

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production supervisors, operators, and technicians.
    • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the production team.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
  3. Process Optimization:

    • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and lower production costs.
    • Collaborate with the R&D and engineering teams to scale up new products from pilot to full-scale production.
    • Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  4. Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure all products meet stringent quality standards and customer specifications.
    • Implement and maintain robust quality control systems and procedures.
    • Address and resolve any production-related quality issues promptly.
  5. Safety and Compliance:

    • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
    • Develop and implement safety training programs for production staff.
  6. Inventory and Supply Chain Management:

    • Manage inventory levels of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products to ensure uninterrupted production.
    • Coordinate with the procurement team to source high-quality raw materials at competitive prices.
    • Collaborate with logistics to optimize the supply chain and delivery schedules.
  7. Budgeting and Reporting:

    • Prepare and manage the production budget, controlling costs and optimizing spending.
    • Generate regular production reports for senior management, highlighting performance metrics and improvement plans.
    • Participate in strategic planning and contribute to long-term business objectives.

Profile

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a production management role within the chemical manufacturing industry, preferably with a focus on materials for aviation.
  • Proven track record of successful team leadership and process optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes, safety regulations, and quality control standards.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
