Job Summary:
Responsibilities would include, but are not limited to, the following:
Diversified work.
Construct and assemble various special gages for measuring thickness, inside and outside diameters, concentricity, angles, depths, grooves, chamfers, and various other special purposes.
Perform manual tool room machining operations, which require various regular and exacting setups to maintain close tolerances.
Benchwork tasks involve filing, lapping, fitting, assembling, and adjusting to meet drawing specifications, usually assisted by a higher-class gage maker in the more difficult phases of machine setup and assembly of gages.
Recognize and report for correction of basic blueprint errors such as missing dimensions or spelling.
Maintain close tolerances.
Detect faulty operation or defective material and report these and other questionable conditions to the foreman.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic understanding of manual machining practices
Basic use of measuring equipment
Basic blueprint reading
Mechanical aptitude
Attention to detail
Willingness to learn and take instruction
Maintain quality to customer satisfaction
Able to work in a team environment
Able to maintain a safe work environment
Able to lift 40lbs
