Job Details
We are currently looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Metrology Technician to join our team. Metrology is the science of measurement. This position will be responsible for operating and maintaining all types of measurement equipment, data collection, supplier correlation and communication withengineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to operate, program and maintain calibration of metrology equipment including (but not limited to):
- CMM
- Vision systems
- Various hand held gauges
- Gear tester
- Laser scanner
- Complete measurements, data analysis, data correlations and PPAP reports.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and 3D models.
- GD&T measurements per ASME Y14.5 standards
- Component debug and problem resolution
- Interaction with development and operationsEngineering teams.
- Team player and great communication skills.
- Communicate and interact with vendors on correct measurement techniques.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Metrology
- Proficient in PC-DMIS CMM software
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of contact and non-contact inspection techniques
- Knowledge of GD&T and ability to interpret complex technical drawings
- Attention to detail and a commitment to high quality work
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASQ Quality Inspection Certification
- Experience with CAD/CAM software,such as AutoCAD/NX or SolidWorks
- ISO Auditor training
