Security Officer - Armed FT Days - 7457-8635 **Description**
Provides armed security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.
Reports to: Assistant Director - Facilities/Security
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Education**
? High school diploma or equivalent - Required
**Required Skills**
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Have an understanding of use of force and be able to articulate when use of force would be appropriate. Experience with Firearms, Baton, Handcuff and Taser.

Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) / Heartsaver from American Heart Association approved training center required within 90 days of employment.
Must complete Handle with Care and Defensive Tactics courses within 90 days of employment
**Required Skills**
Licenses:
Must posses a current Tennessee Drivers License or State of residence and clean MVR. Must posses a current Tennessee Armed Security Officer License or meet all requirements of attaining license and obtain within 30 days of employment. If not licensed upon hire, will only work in capacity of Unarmed Security Guard while obtaining license
**Minimum Work Experience**
One-year experience in a job related to security, law enforcement or military police preferred.
