Job Details
Boyd Jones is seeking a Project Engineer who is a proactive, independent worker capable of precise and accurate work. This position is responsible for assisting the Project Manager and Superintendent in all aspects of the day-to-day management, supervision and coordination of a construction project.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Interpret and apply architectural drawings and specifications to ensure project integrity.
- Manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, drawings, change orders, ASIs, addendums, etc., ensuring timely responses and updates.
- Conducts material takeoffs and utilizes Total Station equipment for survey control and layout.
- Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in maintaining and updating construction schedules.
- Perform regular and frequent job site visits to monitor progress and enforce safety protocols.
- Compile and organize O&M manuals.
- Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices, and address hazards immediately.
- Execute additional duties as required to support project goals.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Strong written and oral communication skills for effective client and stakeholder relations.
- Organizational skills with the capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite and CPM scheduling software.
- Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
Education & Experience:*
- A Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is required.
- At least 1 year of experience in the Commercial Construction Industry.
