Ferguson is currently seeking a Valve Technician to join our Valve & Automation Team! If you enjoy working with your hands, learning new things every day & challenging your mechanical skill then this job is for you!
**Responsibilities:**
+ Assemble and build manual valves into automated valve assemblies.
+ Receive, pull, and package material.
+ Perform some miscellaneous machining including drilling, tapping, cutting, threading, and grinding.
+ Willing to learn new tasks from a team of experienced associates and be comfortable working in a shop environment.
+ Respect and comply with all safety protocol.
**Qualifications:**
+ Previous experience operating machinery for fabrication and the use of cutting and drilling materials preferred.
+ Previous electrical experience as a trade or in conjunction with a previous position is a plus.
+ Valve assembly and/or valve repair experience is a plus.
+ Ability to do some basic welding is preferred, but not required.
+ Must have excellent mechanical skills and willingness to learn new things.
+ Demonstrate basic math skills.
+ Ability to lift 50 lbs.
+ Job is mainly on one's feet all day
+ Ability to work overtime if requested.
**Please Note:** Field visits required but overnight travel is rare
