Job Details

Job Summary: The Parts Inventory Clerk is responsible for ordering and provisioning parts, administration of inventory records, requisitions, purchase orders and
documentation for parts ordering. Process all required paperwork, research and respond to order inquiries, and manage orders in the system.

The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices daily: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values;
2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.

Essential Functions:

  • Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with
    our Vision, Values, and Mission
  • Places and receives orders
  • Manages requisition and invoice (paper and electronic) workflow
  • Reviews all brands for part numbers that can be purchased in quantity price breaks
  • Converts PDC product to direct ship and place orders to be shipped direct from the vendor or cross docked from a Summit warehouse
  • Loads cross references in the business system for direct ship and alternate source parts
  • Provides supporting documentation for month-end accruals related to purchasing
  • Cross-trains for posting responsibilities
  • Enters all orders into computer system
  • Responsible for parts maintenance updates (e.g. pricing, super sessions, etc.)and any other parts information deemed relative
  • Responsible for printing and creating stock orders daily
  • Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
  • Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned and fulfill responsibilities as requested
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of basic accounting procedures
  • Effective communication skills and organizational skills required
  • The ability to read and listen to, and understand information and ideas presented in writing, through spoken words and sentences
  • Proficient with current computer software systems and related hardware
  • Strong attention to detail, and follow-through required
  • Working knowledge of supplier base, parts, and supplies ordering
  • Ability to operate adding machines and other office equipment (e.g., copier, fax machine, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization
Education and Experience:
  • A high school diploma and/or GED required; or a combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skill and abilities
  • Two years of inventory control or logistics experience required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None
Travel:
  • Some overnight travel required
  • Valid Driver's license required
Physical Requirements:
  • This position involves extended periods in the upright position
  • This role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
  • Frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
  • Ascends/descends with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climbs up and down ladders and/or equipment
  • Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
Work Environment:
  • Regularly works outdoors around moving mechanical parts
  • May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity
  • Noise level may be loud at times
  • Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment
  • Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment
  • Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places
  • Frequently works at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
