Role Overview:
Acadeum is seeking a Director of Finance to join our growing team. This role will report directly to the COO / CFO and will play a pivotal role in driving financial strategy, managing day-to-day financial operations, and providing valuable insights to support business decisions. As a part of its value proposition, the Company facilitates B2B payments and the transfer of complex data. Accordingly, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in FinTech, data and/or marketplace businesses, coupled with a passion for making an impact in education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy: Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with Acadeum s overall business objectives. Provide recommendations on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to drive growth and profitability.
- Financial Planning & Analytics: Develop and execute comprehensive financial plans, forecasts, and analysis to support business objectives and drive informed decision-making.
- Financial Operations: Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, and reporting. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Develop and implement efficient financial processes and controls to optimize productivity and accuracy.
- Budget Management: Partner with Accounting and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and manage budgets, monitoring variances and identifying opportunities for optimization.
- Reporting & Compliance: Oversee financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
- Data Analysis: Utilize tools and data analytics to extract actionable insights from financial data. Identify trends, opportunities, and risks to inform strategic decision-making. Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting and scenario planning.
- Special Projects: As the day-to-day finance expert at the Company, you will work closely with the COO / CFO and be responsible for various special projects as assigned.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles
- Demonstrated expertise in financial planning & analysis, budget management, and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proactive problem solver, works independently with minimal supervision
- Proven track record of driving results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excel super user, required. Experience with Stripe (particularly Stripe Connect), a strong preference.
- Experience in FinTech, Data, and/or Marketplace businesses preferred.
