As the Food Pantry Assistant, you will work within our Food Pantry located in Mt. Holly, Burlington County, NJ.

Our programs service adults, children, and families. Your role will be essential to our success, and your efforts will influence our ability to provide treatment to our community.

Competencies:

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Responsibilities:

  • Primary/Front line individual for the Oaks Mt. Holly Food Pantry including storage and distribution of food;
    • Ensure that physical placement meets Oaks' safety standards.
  • Maintain food pantry database;
  • Communicate with Oaks consumers and staff by providing quality customer service;
  • Provide support and work with food pantry volunteers;
  • Meet and greet donors dropping off donations;
  • Process in-kind donations (food, clothing, household items, etc.) including washing and cleaning of items;
  • Support the Development Dept. Campaign events and activities
  • Support as needed at the Berlin and future pantries;
  • Opening and closing of the food pantry;
  • Assist in maintaining pantry inventory (stocking & packing)
  • Unloading delivered products

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required;
  • 1-2 years community relations or administrative experience; experience with hunger-relief, anti-poverty, or mental health programs a plus; experience with donors and/or volunteers a plus; ability to work collaboratively; superior customer service skills;
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
  • Valid driver's license.
