Full Time 40 Hours a Week

The Position:

The Groomer is responsible for providing professional grooming services to our valued clients' pets. They will work closely with pet owners to ensure that all owner instructions and/or breed standards are met. They are responsible for the safety and well-being of all animals while in the care of the Grooming Service and will work with the Kennel Manager to develop and maintain policies/procedures to ensure a smooth and effective flow of daily operations in the area.

Some of the duties include:

  • Oversee and execute daily operations in the service to achieve excellent patient care and client service outcomes.
  • Perform grooming services including nail trims, ear cleaning, bathing, brushing, cutting and styling adhering to breed standards and pet owners' preferences.
  • Admit and discharge pets from their grooming appointments.
  • Work closely with Kennel Manger to coordinate walking/feeding of pets while housed in Grooming department.
  • Educate pet owners on grooming maintenance and at-home care practices to promote overall well-being of their pets.


Physical Requirements:

  • Able to stoop, bend, kneel and stand for prolonged periods of time, up to 80-100% of entire shift.
  • Able to move patients weighing 40lbs repeatedly. Over 40lbs with assistance.
  • Must be able to frequently position self in a manner to attend to patients at varying heights, including floor and grooming table levels (3-4 feet in height).
  • Must be able to constantly move about within the department.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of 2-3 years grooming experience with formal training certification and/or experience under an established certified groomer. High School Diploma/GED required.
