**Description**

Primary Duties:

* Administers Request for Quotes (RFQs) including generating, distributing, tracking and analyzing carrier proposals and pricing for client bids

* Pulls data history from multiple systems for analysis and manipulation

* Models data to facilitate fact based decisions

* Monitor and report carrier and service change impacts to our customers costs and our overall account yield

* Analyzes data relating to carrier performance and prepares metrics used to maintain carrier scorecards

* Analyzes shipping characteristics along with rates for cost savings opportunities and/or increase in expenses

* Supports managers in compiling analytics and presentations for periodic business reviews with customers

* Summarizes data by explaining cause and effect business trends and anomalies along with conclusions

* Identifies savings and profitability improvement opportunities by analyzing client shipping patterns and carrier rate trends

* Organizes and plans tasks allowing time to ensure completion of all projects

* Performs ad-hoc analysis and reporting as needed

* Other duties as required and assigned

**Requirements:**

Education and Experience:

* Bachelors degree in business, supply chain management, finance, industrial engineering or other related field from a 4 year college or university preferred

* Minimum 1 year of experience with analysis and reporting; or an equivalent combination of both education and training

* Experience with Transportation Management Systems, preferably MercuryGate

* Knowledge of transportation industry standard KPIs for cost and service

* PC literacy to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook

Essential Skills:

* Ability to develop and routinely publish reports in Excel and other tools, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and co-workers

* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

* Ability to combine transportation operations knowledge and analytical problem solving to provide insights that drive both operational and strategic benefits

* Ability to generate quality outputs in a timely manner with limited supervision

**Environment:**

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. The employee is regularly exposed to ambient lighting and temperate climate conditions.
