Overview:

This person will assist in an assigned area on a full-time basis.

Available Shifts:

  • Monday through Thursday, 1:45 pm - 10:15 pm, and Friday, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm, eligible for shift differential.
  • Monday through Wednesday, 11:00 am - 8:00 pm, and Thursday and Friday, 10:00 am - 4:30 pm, no shift differential.



Qualifications:

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • Some dining services or cafeteria experience, preferable in a fast food or institutional environment. Preferred

ABILITIES AND SKILLS

  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service and work effectively within a team environment. Required
  • Ability to operate a computerized cash register/POS system, make change, and maintain cash in safe/secure manner while serving customers, or ability to be trained. Preferred
  • Knowledge of portion control serving or ability to be trained. Preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math. Preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively and perform work duties/tasks while following both oral and written instructions. Required
  • Ability to complete work tasks and manage time without close supervision Required
  • Familiarity with safety and sanitation procedures, as well as the proper care of food service equipment. Preferred



Responsibilities:

Customer Service:
Display exemplary customer service skills.
Direct customer concerns, as well as dining plan misuse, to proper supervisor.
Fill in at other Dining Service areas, as needed.

Cleaning and Sanitizing:
Clean and sanitize DS equipment as requested by supervisor, or as designated by preventative maintenance schedules.
Perform general housekeeping functions, keeping dining/service/kitchen areas clean and orderly.
Wash pots, pans, dishes, silverware, etc. utilizing dish machine(s) and pot sinks.
Remove garbage, recycling, and compost from kitchen and service areas.

Back of House:
Assist in kitchen with various tasks, such as food preparation, to ensure service lines are replenished and fresh.
Assist with stocking of front of house, service areas, storage areas, and/or convenience stores.
Prepare, cook, and/or serve food from various food service equipment, following established procedures for the specific assigned workstation, or ability to be trained.
Ensure opening and closing procedures and duties are completed accurately for assigned workstation.

Other:
Comply with all safety and sanitation procedures in performance of duties.
Will be required to work snow closure days that may fall on scheduled work days.
Transport food, equipment, and supplies between storage areas and work areas. (Marginal)



Physical Standards and Special Job Features:
Ability to lift items up to 40 lbs. Must have neat and clean grooming and hygiene habits. Able to stand/walk for long periods of time. Exposure to high temperature kitchen equipment. Exposure to fluctuations in temperatures (ie: coolers/ freezers). Pushing and/or pulling a kitchen cart weighing 70 lbs. Loaded cart may at times, as needed, weigh up to, and not to exceed, 200 lbs.

Pay Transparency:
$14.82 per hour.
