INVENTORY CLERK (NUTRITION)


Job Details

Purpose and Scope:

Provides maintenance and day to day inventory control. This position is responsible for the general warehouse inventory, including any shipping and receiving that occurs during the shift. Must ensure requested food materials are available to Central Kitchen as needed to enable uninterrupted cooking, and to generally oversee the warehouse during the shift.

Essential Job Functions:
  1. Receives and verifies all food using appropriate paperwork.
  2. Must compute figures from underlying records to obtain current inventory.
  3. Responsible for screening purchase orders.
  4. Labels food inventory as appropriate for storage in the warehouse.
  5. Maintains inventory records as appropriate for items stored in the warehouse, including adjustments.
  6. Surveys for broken and unusable items, oversee physical inventory, investigate and report / correct discrepancies in inventory stock.
  7. Oversees order fulfillment for Central Kitchen and School orders.
  8. Oversees the loading of the delivery trucks by the Warehousemen.
  9. Ensures that stock is rotated according to FIFO techniques.
  10. Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.


Minimum Qualifications:

Requires high school diploma or GED; requires two (2) years of related work experience.

Degree Equivalency Formula:

Bachelors Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.

Masters Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Masters degrees are required, years for Bachelors Degrees must be included.
