Cook/ Prepare and serve patients, families and employees nutritious, safe and good tasting foods that promote health and healing of the body. Responsible for preparation and service of meals for all patients including regular, therapeutic and texture modified diets. Prepares patient meals that follow established standardized recipes, IDDSI guidelines and safe food handling procedures. Utilizes meal service computer software to place appropriate diet orders for hospital patients according to food preferences, allergens, and nutritional needs. Practices in accordance with policies and procedures of the Nutrition Services Department, state food codes, and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. Maintains a clean, safe, operational and sanitary kitchen environment according to department standards. Collects soiled trays and wares from patient care areas and retail outlets.
