SUMMARY:

The Procurement Manager oversees and manages the internal day-to-day procurement operations for all chemical and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) materials. Reporting directly to the Director of Procurement, the Procurement Manager leads a team of Procurement Specialists and Coordinators, ensuring efficient procurement processes, vendor management, and cost optimization strategies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Procurement Specialists and Coordinators to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery of chemical and MRO materials.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key vendors and suppliers to ensure reliable sources of materials and favorable terms.
  • Review and analyze procurement data, including spend, supplier performance, and market trends, to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors to secure favorable agreements and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to optimize stock levels while minimizing carrying costs and obsolescence risks.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls related to procurement activities.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on procurement performance, initiatives, and key metrics to senior management.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes, systems, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Resolve any procurement-related issues or disputes in a timely and effective manner.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in procurement and supply chain management.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, AND EXPERIENCE
  • Batchelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field required; master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with t least 2 years in a management or supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of procurement principles, practices and procedures, particularly in the chemical and MRO industries.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability tomotivate an develop team members.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Prociciency in procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards in procurement.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks in a dynamic environment.
