Position: General Maintenance/Carpenter II
Job Description:

  • Maintain positive work habits.
  • Perform duties that relate to the facility repairs and replacements as assigned and in emergencies as needed.
  • Perform basic carpentry repairs.
  • Load, haul, and unload materials.
  • Deliver commodities, supplies, and other materials to and from schools as needed.
  • Additional assignments will include general maintenance, assist maintenance employees and custodians in performing minor repairs to equipment and buildings, as well as painting and general maintenance.
  • Snowplow/removal of parking lot areas.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on county owned facilities.
  • Assist in tasks related to building repairs and minor repair of electrical, heating, cooling, and plumbing systems as appropriate.
  • Other job-related duties as requested by supervisor.

Qualifications:
  • Must be a high school graduate or GED equivalent, successfully complete the state required competency test for General Maintenance, passed the state competency test for Carpenter II or General Contractor's License.
  • Minimum of 5 years building construction, carpentry, or maintenance experience
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written instructions.
  • Possess physical strength to perform jobs that require prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and/or working in cramped quarters.
  • Ability to climb/work at high altitudes on ladders, scaffold, and/or roofs as the job requires.
  • Valid West Virginia Driver's license.

Salary: Pay Grade F - 240 Days
