ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST

ABOUT THE COMPANY:

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Specialist to join our accounting team.
• We are a leading construction, paving, trucking & environmental contractor.
• Our business is stable, but our busy months are approaching.
• Our office has a small company feel, but we are growing.
• Previous experience in construction and payroll is highly desirable, and proficiency with QuickBooks is a significant advantage.

OVERVIEW OF THE ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST ROLE:

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate and timely payments and collections.
• The Accounting Specialist assists the CFO with various accounting tasks, including financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis.
• Potentially contribute to payroll administration, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Utilize QuickBooks or similar software to maintain financial records and generate reports.
• Accounting Specialist works collaboratively with team members across departments to achieve company goals.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with clients and vendors via phone and email.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST ROLE:

• Previous experience in accounting, preferably in a construction or related industry.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
• The Accounting Specialist needs excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
