Job Summary
This position will tutor adult learners in the content areas of the GED Test including: Reading Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science. Incumbent will follow lesson plans developed by adult education instructors and tutor adult learners as assigned. General office work such as filing, answering phones, putting together packets/study materials is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Tutor adults preparing for the GED Test, and/or improving basic academic skills for postsecondary education
Follow study plan as written by adult education instructors and teach basic academic skills
Answer phones and greet public
Must possess basic knowledge and answer general questions about services provided by the program
Converse with adult learners, coworkers and general public in a responsive manner
Complete in-take paper work and create student work and admin folders
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Coping/printing/stapling learning packets
General straightening of rooms and shelves, cleaning tables, etc
Organizing, sorting and preparing supplies for distribution to counties in the service area
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma
Excellent communication skills
Comfortable working with adults from various backgrounds
Ability to tutor learners in high school level math and reading skills

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for brief periods. Some light lifting (5 lbs) occasionally when boxing books/materials for distribution.
