Job Details

Automotive Service Director needed for leading import dealership in Western Mass. The successful candidate is a proven automotive Service Director who is process driven, consistent, and someone who truly leads by example. This opportunity is with a stable dealership known for its many long-term employees. Beautiful facility and reputable dealership group. However, the Service Department is currently underperforming compared to the rest of the dealership, prompting the need for new leadership. Currently there are inconsistencies in processes and accountability which should easily be remedied with an experienced Service Director who is a clear communicator and sets clear expectations for their staff.


The dealer is looking for a Service Director that sees the big picture, in addition to the day-to-day details, and thrives on maximizing their department s potential as there is definite room for growth in the service department with the right leader in place. It is important that the Service Director hired believes in providing a great customer experience so that customer retention and CSI are in the green. Likewise, it is important that the Service Director hired holds meaningful meetings, actively spends time training their team members with 1:1 sessions and is someone who loves to see their employees grow and flourish. This is a great opportunity for a motivated Service Director who knows how to make it happen, is energized to come to work day in and day out, and loves building a team and culture that strives for continued success. It is very important that the person hired is a great team builder, leads by example, and is a resource to their employees. Must have a stable track record of leading medium to high volume service departments in a new car dealership setting. Experience on CDK is highly preferred.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the service department
  • Create and implement processes to increase efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability in the service department.
  • Set a clear vision for the Service Department to achieve targeted performance goals.
  • Hold daily and weekly meetings for the department, as well as 1:1s with individual team members.
  • Ensure the department has green CSI through building and maintaining relationships with customers and ensuring that they receive high-quality service.
  • Oversee the Service Advisors and ensure that ROs are written up and closed out in a timely manner.
  • Manage and supervise the service technicians, ensuring that all work is performed to the highest standards and within established timelines.
  • Provide training to service technicians to help them improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Recruit, interview and train service staff; handle performance reviews
  • Create an exceptional customer experience to drive customer loyalty
  • Develop and manage budgets and operating plans for the service department, monitoring performance and making adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge about the latest automotive technologies and stay current on industry trends.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the dealership to ensure seamless and efficient operations.
  • Monitor/control all warranty activity to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Ensure the Service area is customer-customer ready with proper displays and information
  • Other duties as required


Compensation / Benefits:

  • Compensation range will be in the $200,000 - $225,000 range for the successful candidate with a proven track record of leading high volume service departments. True room for growth as the department grows!!
