Summary:
The Sanitation Technician performs cleaning and sanitizing duties on equipment and tools such as industrial pumps, automated filling equipment, process piping, floors, walls, etc., within a food processing establishment.
Responsibilities:
- Safely clean and sanitizing equipment, tools, and facility to ensure all soil and contaminates are removed per procedures
- Tear down equipment and use chemicals to clean and sanitize, then reassemble equipment.
- Handle and use hazardous chemicals, including acids, chlorines, and caustics
- Work from heights utilizing ladders and aerial lifting equipment
- Operate industrial equipment such as floor scrubbers, scissor lifts, and pressure washers
- Following sanitation schedules to conduct and document routine cleaning of the facility and production line
- Using chemicals per stated concentrations and in appropriate applications and doing proper documentation of usage.
- Read and write and able to communicate well with others verbally
- Attend scheduled shifts and arrive on time.
- Be a team player and interact professionally with co-workers
Qualifications:- 1-year experience of sanitation in an industrial food processing or production environment preferred.
- Understand simple instructions, training materials, and product labeling.
- Perform basic math for dilutions and work with cleaning chemicals.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to read, speak and comprehend basic English for safety and quality purposes.
- Able to work independently and be reliable.
- Ability to operate a forklift, preferred
