Summary:

The Sanitation Technician performs cleaning and sanitizing duties on equipment and tools such as industrial pumps, automated filling equipment, process piping, floors, walls, etc., within a food processing establishment.

Responsibilities:


  • Safely clean and sanitizing equipment, tools, and facility to ensure all soil and contaminates are removed per procedures
  • Tear down equipment and use chemicals to clean and sanitize, then reassemble equipment.
  • Handle and use hazardous chemicals, including acids, chlorines, and caustics
  • Work from heights utilizing ladders and aerial lifting equipment
  • Operate industrial equipment such as floor scrubbers, scissor lifts, and pressure washers
  • Following sanitation schedules to conduct and document routine cleaning of the facility and production line
  • Using chemicals per stated concentrations and in appropriate applications and doing proper documentation of usage.
  • Read and write and able to communicate well with others verbally
  • Attend scheduled shifts and arrive on time.
  • Be a team player and interact professionally with co-workers



Qualifications:
  • 1-year experience of sanitation in an industrial food processing or production environment preferred.
  • Understand simple instructions, training materials, and product labeling.
  • Perform basic math for dilutions and work with cleaning chemicals.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to read, speak and comprehend basic English for safety and quality purposes.
  • Able to work independently and be reliable.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, preferred
