Job Details for Accounts Receivable Specialist:
  • Pay Rate: $23/HR

JOB SUMMARY:

Notify or locate customers with delinquent accounts and attempt to secure payment by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities for Accounts Receivable Specialist:
  • Notify management of high-risk accounts through Top 10 and territory aging reviews.
  • Maintain low portfolio aging by conferring with customers to determine reasons for overdue payments and problem solving.
  • Contact customers by phone and email to advise of past due invoices and declined payments daily.
  • Field inbound calls and emails from customers and update accounts with information provided while making outbound contacts.
  • Update customer account information and contact preferences.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects, queries, and responsibilities related to assigned portfolio.
  • Record information about financial status of customers and status of collection efforts
  • Meet daily and weekly department metrics for outgoing and incoming calls/emails.
  • Reply to, sort, and file a high volume of email correspondence.
  • Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers including but not limited to Cash Applications, Credit, Customer Service, and Sales.
  • Cross train as a backup for department projects such as chargebacks, overnight declined credit cards and the dispute workflow.
  • Follow department policies and procedures and make efficiency recommendations.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the activities enumerated above.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Collections or Customer Service call center preferred.
  • Experience in business to business environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) a plus.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Great customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Comfortable in a high volume, fast paced environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Required to stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to talk and hear.
  • Vision abilities include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally lift and or move up to 20 pounds.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
  • May be in close proximity to warehouse equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to report to work on time as scheduled.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
