Utah Hockey, a brand-new NHL franchise, is seeking a charismatic and knowledgeable TV Studio Host to lead the charge in our TV broadcast studio! Be a part of our team's coverage bringing excitement, expertise, and a connection with fans to every broadcast.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Host pre-game, post-game, and intermission shows for all TV broadcasts, guiding viewers through analysis, interviews, and exciting game content.
  • Set the tone for the broadcast, generating excitement and anticipation for upcoming games and discussing key takeaways from recent ones.
  • Lead engaging discussions with studio analysts and color commentators, ensuring a smooth flow of conversation and fostering insightful debate.
  • Conduct interviews with players, coaches, and other newsmakers, drawing out interesting stories and keeping viewers informed.
  • Introduce pre-produced content and seamlessly integrate it into the broadcast flow.
  • Work closely with the broadcast team to prepare for games, including researching opponents, players, and storylines
  • Represent the team at promotional/sponsor events, media appearances, and community functions, building excitement and connecting with fans.
  • Maintain a professional and engaging on-air presence, fostering a positive image for the team and the NHL.
  • Participate in promotional/sponsor activities and community events to build excitement for the team and connect with fans.
  • Maintain a strong social media presence, interacting with fans and generating excitement for the team.
  • Participate in content captures and other features for the franchise's streaming product
  • Contribute and collaborate on the team's social media and streaming content efforts
  • Represent the team at press conferences and other team/media events, gathering information to generate content for broadcasts and streaming platforms
  • Travel to some road games required

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a sports broadcaster or studio host (television preferred).
  • Extensive knowledge of hockey, including current NHL teams, players, storylines, and historical context.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with a diverse audience.
  • Strong on-air presence with a charismatic personality and the ability to command attention.
  • Telegenic appearance and a comfortable, engaging demeanor on camera.
  • Ability to think on their feet, adapt to changing situations, and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Experience working within a fast-paced broadcast environment and collaborating with production teams.
  • Experience hosting hockey broadcasts or a strong track record in hosting other sports.
  • Experience creating or contributing to pre-produced content for sports broadcasts.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.
This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate and assess.
This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
This person must be able to lift 20 lbs.
