Experienced Services (ACES) Program offers unique opportunities in Scientific,

Technical, and Agricultural support for individuals aged 55 and over to support

the Department of Agriculture?s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)

through a grant administered program awarded to National Experienced Workforce

Solutions (NEW Solutions). This is a unique program where your talents,

expertise, and experience will truly be valued. The ACES program provides an

opportunity to work side-by-side with NRCS staff that are doing important work

every day. Benefits: Paid Health Insurance Premium for positions budgeted at 60+

hours per pay period, Accrued Vacation and Sick Leave, Paid Federal Holidays,

and optional Vision and Dental Insurance available for positions budgeted at 35+

hours per pay period. Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any

definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by

NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions

and the Enrollee is an "at-will" relationship. This means that an Enrollee is

free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW

Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the

Enrollee. PLEASE NOTE: An ?ACES Enrollee? is not a federal employee, nor an

employee of NEW Solutions. An ?ACES Enrollee? is a participant in a grant

program established through a Cooperative Agreement funded by the USDA-NRCS and

Qualifications:

Minimum of 15 year(s) of experience in conservation planning agriculture and

natural resource management, or a related field of study. OR BA/BS Degree in

Natural Resources or related fields.

A valid Arizona State Drivers License is required, experience with landowner

conservation programs is preferred.

Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access

PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat experience may be helpful. Experience with USDA

software is preferred.

Duties:

Work will be performed in support of overall conservation delivery for the State

Conservationist and partner organizations. Tasks will generally consist of

assisting NRCS leadership and field offices with collecting data, analyzing

financial decisions and recommendations, preparing reports, coordinating and

communicating with conservationists, engineers, customers and other NRCS

personnel and partners. Examples of activities for conservation assistance

covered by this agreement are as follows:

Assists State Conservationist and the State Leadership Team with Management

and Strategy functions such as planning, managing, coordinating, evaluating, and

reporting activities at the state and field levels. 25%

Provide state policy recommendations and analysis of existing policy to

streamline for better customer service while maximizing the conservation

potential of the programs. 25%

Operational Support: Provide technical and operational support,

recommendations, and implementation assistance on a wide range of Farm Bill

programs, delivery tools, policy, and accomplishment reporting. This may

include, but is not limited to, providing financial expertise and business tool

support to internal and external customers and partners. 50%

Other:

Subject to mandatory USDA Computer Security and Privacy training as mandated

by law.

Travel Requirements: Occasionally to satisfy the duties of the position.

Overnight travel: Overnight travel will not generally be required.

Rental cars: The use of rental vehicles will not generally be required.

Required Safety Gear: Employe should wear clothing and footwear suitable for

the duties identifed for the daily tasks.

Remote work arrangements are available for this position.
