Job Summary: The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for accurately processing and managing payroll for hourly and union employees using Workday Payroll. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, a strong understanding of union agreements, and a commitment to maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process payroll for hourly and union employees in accordance with company policies and union agreements.
  • Utilize Workday Payroll to enter, update, and maintain payroll data.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment of wages, benefits, and deductions.
  • Validate timekeeping records and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of payroll transactions, adjustments, and corrections.
  • Collaborate with HR/IR and other departments to ensure payroll information is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees, providing excellent customer service.
  • Stay informed about changes in payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Assist in preparing payroll reports and audits as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and union agreements.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience, specifically with hourly and union employees.
  • Proficiency in Workday Payroll or similar payroll software.
  • Strong understanding of union agreements and labor regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
  • Experience with multi-state payroll processing.
  • Knowledge of benefits administration and payroll tax regulations.
