Style Crest is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, leading, and monitoring a comprehensive maintenance and reliability program. This program aims to reduce breakdowns, extend asset life, and ensure that machinery, equipment, components, and facilities operate consistently and efficiently, supporting continuous production operations.


As a technical advisor to plant leadership, the Maintenance Manager will drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiencies, product quality, productivity, cost reduction, and workplace safety. The role involves directing the daily activities of the maintenance and tool & die associates and overseeing the repair, maintenance, installation, or modification of machinery, equipment, and components.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Leadership: Direct efficient and effective maintenance, installation, repair, modification, and safe operation of plant equipment, machinery, components, tooling, utilities, and facilities. Provide technical support and leadership for maintenance and reliability activities to ensure plant assets are in a proper and safe working condition and consistently meet expected operating rates.
  • Asset Integrity: Drive plant asset integrity and sustainability through predictive maintenance programs, audits and inspections, consistent maintenance scheduling, root cause analysis, improvement techniques, and maintenance best practices. Analyze data from reliability and PM programs, repetitive failures, and production performance to recommend solutions to reduce failures, improve equipment performance, and maximize asset availability. Establish metrics to evaluate maintenance program effectiveness.
  • Team Management: Lead a team of skilled technicians who maintain and repair plant equipment and machinery, as well as fabricate or modify machines and tooling to support continuous production operations. Build a high-performance maintenance team through engagement, coaching, and skill development. Identify skill or equipment knowledge gaps and provide training opportunities. Manage team member recruitment, performance feedback, concerns, work environment, and company policy enforcement.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with plant leadership, engineering, QA, EHS, and other associates to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Develop and implement new methods and procedures to enhance operations, minimize operating costs, and improve labor, materials, and equipment utilization. Act as a technical advisor to plant leadership and the EHS Manager for regulatory compliance support.
  • Spare Parts Program: Ensure the spare parts program supports plant needs effectively. Manage spare part inventory strategy to maintain adequate supplies and monitor program effectiveness.
  • Business Planning: Participate in manufacturing business planning with plant leadership to establish short and long-term initiatives. Implement maintenance action items to support the overall business plan and provide support to other plant team members.
  • Budget Management: Develop, monitor, and be accountable for the plant maintenance and tool & die budgets. Review and approve expenditures, third-party maintenance providers, and overtime. Purchase tools, equipment, spare parts, and supplies required for plant operations. Identify and implement cost-saving ideas for maintenance.
  • Capital Projects: Manage capital projects in conjunction with plant leadership for new or modified equipment, facility layout changes, new product development, cost savings, and modifications. Review project timelines, discuss equipment and installation requirements, assist in business case development, and review project costs. Develop or update protocols and training programs for new or modified equipment.
  • Vendor Management: Obtain quotes and estimates from outside vendors and contractors for facility maintenance of all Style Crest buildings in Ohio. Ensure services provided by vendors and contractors meet expectations and comply with safety regulations. Assist with maintenance programs and services to support other distribution branches and manufacturing operations outside Ohio as needed.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related technical field is preferred.
  • 7 to 10 years of extensive maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment of similar complexity.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people skills with significant hands-on experience leading maintenance teams.
  • Proven abilities to build and manage programs that drive continuous improvement and reduce equipment failures.
  • Excellent mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills to resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to perform data analysis and implement solutions using technical knowledge and a thorough understanding of equipment and process operations.
  • An organized individual who can manage multiple priorities at the same time.
  • Strong communication (verbal & written), project management and time management skills.
  • A coach and mentor who can effectively train, facilitate, and develop skills in others.
  • Demonstrated ability to create a positive culture of accountability and teamwork.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player to support all plant operations.
  • Must be proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and maintenance software.
  • Must be accessible for questions or to resolve issues whenever needed to support the 24/7 plant operation.
