About our Client: Our client is a long-standing, successful, privately owned Marine dealership in the PNW. They are one of the largest boat retailers in the state, and they sell a wide selection of premier boat brands. Position Overview:

My client is seeking to fill several Marine Technician openings across several of their locations. Although they are open to candidates of all experience levels, their preference is to bring on experienced Technicians, who ideally have experience working on outboards, sterndrives, and inboards, on a wide range of watercraft. Wages will be based on years of experience, competencies, and certifications complete/factory trainings attended. They will provide top wages for high quality Technicians, a comprehensive benefits package, and they will also contribute to and encourage continuing education and the development of your skills. Job Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and service OBs, IOs, boats and trailers
  • Efficiently perform service work correctly the first time
  • Installation of mechanical and electrical accessories
  • Increasing service sales, customer satisfaction, and profitability of the dealership
  • Communication in a professional, timely, and accurate manner with customers to manage expectations and keep them informed on service timelines
  • Managing project timeline, scheduling service appointments, and multitasking.
  • Prepare boats for pickup from customers
  • Maintain detailed service records
  • Adhere to company and Service department SOPs
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment in the Service area
  • Assist with the execution of warranty claims including service actions, meeting the documentation standards, and liaising with OEMs as needed


Criteria for Consideration:

  • Marine Technician experience in the Marine industry required.
  • Formal Marine industry factory training and/or certifications preferred
  • Must have the ability to diagnose electrical issues
  • Must be proficient in the troubleshooting, diagnosis, service, and repair of outboards, inboards, and sterndrives
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must be able to effectively manage Service personnel, processes and procedures, and all aspects of day to day operations of a high volume Service operation
  • Understanding of the warranty reimbursement process preferred
  • Must be comfortable and capable of engaging customers, resolving conflict, and elevating the customer experience through effective communication
  • Must maintain a professional image and be an effective written and verbal communicator
