Drone System Operator 2 (Part-Time) - Detroit, MI


This will be a part-time contract position with 15-30 hours per week.

  • Flexible to work 9PM-3AM
  • Must be VERY responsible and ability to work independent
  • Must work onsite with Nokia customer
  • Pay Rate $20/hr

Successful Candidates must have:

  • The ability to pilot the drone in manual mode is a key skill requirement.
  • Must have hands on experience such as piloting for inspections, photography, drone racing etc.
  • Must be able to use software and computers at the level of a good technician.
  • Should the drone need minor mechanical or electronic repairs, will need to be able perform such repairs.
  • Candidates with prior experience in building custom drones or other electronics, or who have worked in drone service centers, would demonstrate such skills.
  • Will be responsible to prepare, initiate and monitor each of the drone system flights.
  • Ideal candidates could be college students or local people looking for regular part-time work.
  • Candidates need to be responsible, reliable and ok to be scheduled for shift work, likely either early morning or late evening.

SCOPE:

  • As an Indoor Drone System Operator, you will be responsible for the nightly operations of our AIMS Drone monitoring system in a large warehouse environment.
  • You will prepare, initiate and monitor each of the drone system flights.
  • At the end of the night you will prepare performance reports and run analysis computer scripts.
  • Tasks will include setting up equipment such as drones, computers and wireless equipment at the beginning of each shift.
  • During the night the tasks will include moving the drone around the warehouse, swapping batteries and executing monitoring scripts on a laptop computer.
  • The job will include interfacing with warehouse operations staff (our customer) and scheduling drone flights and reporting analytic results.



Key Responsibilities/Functions


  • Initiating and managing drone missions via a laptop
  • Drone checking, battery swapping, inventory control
  • Recording data, generating MS Office reports
  • Communicating with AIMS technical team, remote diagnostics, customer liaison
  • Escalating and reporting issues via a defined notification tree

Qualifications/Background

At least one of the following is required:

  • Flying drones
  • Experience with computer networks and monitoring applications.
  • FAA UAV pilot license

Education

Two year Technical/IT degree (or equivalent) or Enrolled in a bachelors degree program
